Ten years have now passed since dad died from a brain tumour in May 2006.  As a family we've decided we would like to do something to mark this milestone anniversary.  By setting up this page we thought it would allow others to share memories and we would be grateful if you made a donation to Christian Aid, in dad's memory, which will go directly to supporting Christian Aid's work in Zambia.

Christian Aid has been working in Zambia, through its partner organisations, for many years.  It's a country dad visited twice as Bishop of Taunton.   He was moved by the people and the projects he met, especially the little girl he met at an orphanage who survived against all odds, despite being left as a baby on a railway track (you will see a picture of Minerva at the top, left).  He kept a diary during his first visit to Zambia in June 2003, documenting all the places they visited and the many people they met.

On 1st June 2016 I arrived in Zambia for the first time, made all the more poignant by the fact this was the day dad and mum landed in Lusaka exactly 13 years ago.  I now work for Christian Aid and I had an amazing two week trip learning about the projects that Christian Aid is funding.  The current programme focuses on 4 key areas: gender violence, economic empowerment, resource governance and emergency preparedness. Sixty percent of the population in Zambia live on less than $2 a day.
